Hamburger Gravy

Who else grew up eating this???

1 lb. ground beef
1 small onion – chopped
1/2 cup butter
2 cups milk
1/2 cup flour
salt and pepper – to taste
Homemade mashed potatoes

Brown ground beef and onion in skillet and drain. In same pan melt butter and add flour to make a roux. Stir until smooth. Add milk and stir until thick. Add salt and pepper to taste. Pour over prepared mashed potatoes and enjoy!

**note: you can also serve over boiled potatoes, toast or biscuits!
